Last month I was working for one of the UK’s biggest animal welfare charities as a Media Assistant, managing their social media accounts, whilst running my own photography business. Before that I worked as a Photographic Stylist for big brands, I enjoyed my role but the clients I worked for cared more about profit, than people or the environment. Now I’m creating content for sustainable brands that care about their impact on our planet.
What led me to Reward?
Since 2018 I have become very aware of the negative impact some companies have on our planet. I saw this first hand, working for fast-fashion brands and companies that would churn cheap, plastic products out at lighting speed.
Throughout the last few years I have always wanted to work for a company that puts people and the planet first, instead of companies that are just profit orientated. I have been aware of Reward since 2019/20 and have always admired what they do. I’m so happy to have found a company where I can continue to do what I am passionate about, whilst working towards a more sustainable future.
How was my first week?
This week has been great! On my first day I met most of the team and after an induction we went out for a very tasty lunch. This was a great opportunity to get to know everyone and it turns out we have a few things in common!
After my first day I have been eased into tasks such as getting to know our client accounts, understanding the Reward processes, coming up with new ideas for our social media channels. On Friday I took some staff/promotional photographs, to elevate our website and social media presence, followed by some well deserved pizza, after all that modelling!
Working with the team has been wonderful, everyone is passionate about their role and has offered help if I need anything. I really love the dynamic at Reward, it really does feel like we are a team and I feel confident to voice my thoughts and opinions, without fear of judgement.
I feel so proud to be working for a company that puts people and the planet first, as it’s something I have been very conscious of in the last few years. I’m excited for what the future holds for Reward and I’m grateful to be a part of it!
